oin us as we enter into our 10th year of establishing our very own Holly Springs Color Guard/Winterguard team on an upward and steadfast growth with many talented members. The group is directed by Michael Biasi, Band Director of HS High School, along with Lynda Kachman, Director of the Guard Programs, and staff members Meredith Gorham and Alexis Scott along with key parent volunteers.
HSHS Guard Programs have developed over the 10 years into an award-winning organization with many 1st and 2nd place winnings on the local level, as well as a first-time ever 2nd place earning at the 2015 Winterguard International (WGI) Regional in Norfolk, Virginia.
These energetic members have been working hard with local businesses and community supporters to raise money to head to two WGI Regionals this winter. Their first regional competition will be held in Charlotte, NC followed by a trip to the Southeastern Championship of WGI in Orlando, Florida. Their most recent fundraiser, a car wash sponsored by one of the teams most admired sponsors, ACME Pizza, was a huge success though many other fundraising events have been scheduled for the future to offset the travel and expense costs to the members as this program is fully dependent on support of parents and community businesses.
An HSHS Winterguard exhibition, displaying their success and talent, is planned for March 2016 to be shared with our community. Please be on the lookout for future ticket information to see the Award Winning Winterguard 2016 production.
