With the holidays just around the corner, the Town of Holly Springs has many ways to celebrate and share the season’s joy!
Holiday Events
Light the Springs
Saturday, December 7, 5-8 p.m.
Holly Springs Cultural Center
“Snow” is in the forecast as the Town invites everyone to kick off holiday celebrations at Light the Springs. Come to the Cultural Center on Saturday, December 7, and enjoy live entertainment, food trucks, visits with Santa, craft stations, menorah and Christmas tree lightings, and a “snow” celebration!
The free event begins at 5 p.m. with the menorah lighting on the outdoor stage. Live entertainment featuring local community groups will include festive favorites as food trucks and vendors in and around the Cultural Center offer food and beverage selections of hot chocolate, coffee, baked goods, and snacks.
Be sure to say hello to Santa and Mrs. Claus. Kids can bring their letters to Santa to the mailbox in front of Town Hall on Main Street before meeting the jolly fellow in person at the event.
At 8 p.m., join Mayor Sean Mayefskie, Santa, and Mrs. Claus near the outdoor stage for the tree lighting. As the lights go on, a light “snowfall” will cap off this celebration you won’t want to miss!
Happy Holly Days Parade
Saturday, December 14, 10 a.m.
Downtown Holly Springs
Floats, bands, dancers, decorated vehicles, marching groups, and all sorts of entertaining entries travel Main Street through downtown. Details: hollyspringsnc.gov/parade
Santa’s Mailbox
November 25-December 15
Main Street in front of Town Hall
Does your child have a special wish that they hope reaches Santa in time? Children can eliminate the guesswork by writing to the Big Man himself! Santa’s Mailbox returns for the season outside the front entrance to Town Hall at 128 S. Main Street. It’s a gift to the children by John Dalpe and ASI, North Carolina.
Once letters are dropped off, Holly Springs Run Club volunteers and Endurance Fence Solutions staff run them to the North Pole so that Santa can answer before Christmas. **Children who want to hear back from Santa by Christmas Eve should include their name and home address.**
Holly Day Express with the Fire Department
December 2-5 (Rain date: 12/6) weeknights beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Neighborhoods throughout Holly Springs
Thanks to the help of the Holly Springs Fire Department, Santa Claus is coming to a neighborhood street near you.
Beginning at 5:30 p.m. the week of December 2 and continuing weeknights through the middle of the month, Santa is hopping on a float and being escorted through Town by the fire department. Fire engines will also join Santa’s tour through town, so if you hear a siren or see some lights, you’ll know Santa is getting close!
Even if Santa is not in your neighborhood, your children can digitally follow his progress in real time through Holly Springs each night on the Town’s specially created Santa Tracker. Details: hollyspringsnc.gov/hollydayexpress

Sharing the Joy
U.S. Marines Toys for Tots Collection
Through Mid-November
Holly Springs Fire Stations 1 and 2
Donate unwrapped new toys at Fire Station 1 or 2 through mid-December. Toys for Tots, a program created by the U.S. Marine Corps, distributes toys to disadvantaged children.
Thanksgiving Holiday Hunger Relief – Public Safety Cadets
Through November 22
Law Enforcement Center
Join the Holly Springs Police Public Safety Cadets in a Thanksgiving food drive to benefit the Holly Springs Food Cupboard. Through the week before Thanksgiving, drop off non-perishable food donations such as canned goods, cereal, and baby products at the Law Enforcement Center at 750 Holly Springs Road. The cadets will transfer all donations to the Cupboard for distribution to local families facing food insecurity.
Holly Springs Police Angel Tree / Public Safety Cadet Toy Drive
Through mid-December, Law Enforcement Center
Interested in gathering gifts for a child from a local family in need? Every year, Holly Springs school resource officers identify children who could benefit from a boost of holiday cheer.
If you’re interested in donating an assortment of items for a child, drop by the Law Enforcement Center to select a tag off the Angel Tree. Each card lists a child’s name, age, clothing and shoe sizes, and wish list. Want to donate a toy or two instead of a larger selection of items? No need to select a tag from the tree. New, unwrapped toys are also accepted at the police station to supplement the Angel Tree donations.
All donations should be returned by mid-December. Find details and donation deadlines on the website.
Public Safety Cadets also are organizing a toy drive for local children in our community. Drop-off locations through mid-December include Town Hall and Holly Springs High School, in addition to the Law Enforcement Center.
Shop with a Cop
One of the highlights of the holiday season is the annual Holly Springs Police Shop with a Cop event. Every year, Holly Springs police and school resource officers identify about 10 children. Each child is paired with an officer to shop for holiday presents for themselves and their families. Monetary donations are being accepted at the Law Enforcement Center, or visit the Town website for more details.
Holiday Toy Drive
Through early December
Town Hall lobby
Donate unwrapped toys to be given to local families in need. The drive serves Holly Springs families, as well as those from surrounding communities. Find details on our website.
