“Snow” is in the forecast as the Town invites everyone to kick off holiday celebrations at “Light the Springs,” a new Holly Springs event, on the first night of Hanukkah! Come to the Cultural Center on Thursday, December 7, and enjoy live entertainment, food trucks, visits with Santa, “Holidays Around the World” craft stations, menorah and Christmas tree lightings, and a “snow” celebration!
The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with the menorah lighting in partnership with the Jewish Federation of Greater Raleigh. The 9-foot-tall menorah will be located near the main Cultural Center entrance (parking lot side). Historical meaning and information will be provided before lighting the first candle.
Live entertainment featuring local community groups will include festive favorites as food trucks and vendors in and around the Cultural Center offer food and beverage selections of hot chocolate, coffee, baked goods, and snacks.
Holiday lawn games, including inflatable carnival games, and crafts with a “Holidays Around the World” theme will celebrate a variety of cultural winter holidays from across the globe. Be sure to say hello to Santa and Mrs. Claus. Kids can bring their letters to Santa to the mailbox in front of Town Hall on Main Street before meeting the jolly fellow in person at the event.
At 8:00 p.m., join Mayor Sean Mayefskie, Santa, and Mrs. Claus near the outdoor stage for the tree lighting. As the lights go on, a light “snowfall” will cap off this celebration you won’t want to miss!

Santa’s Mailbox
November 20 – December 10
Main Street in front of Town Hall
Does your child have a special Christmas wish that they’re hoping reaches Santa in time? Kids can eliminate the guesswork by writing to the Big Man himself! Santa’s Mailbox returns for the season outside the front entrance to Town Hall at 128 S. Main Street. It’s a gift to the children by John Dalpe and ASI, North Carolina.
Children can drop off letters for Santa anytime from November 20 through December 10. Holly Springs Run Club volunteers and Endurance Fence Solutions staff will run the letters to the North Pole so that Santa can answer them before Christmas. Children who want to hear back from Santa by Christmas Eve should include their name and home address.
Holly Day Express with the Fire Department
Early December weeknights beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Neighborhoods throughout Holly Springs
Thanks to the help of the Holly Springs Fire Department, Santa Claus is coming to a neighborhood street near you.
Beginning at 5:30 p.m. the week of December 4 and continuing weeknights through the middle of the month, Santa is hopping on a float and being escorted through town by the Holly Springs Fire Department. Fire engines will be joining Santa’s tour through town, so if you hear a siren or see some lights, you’ll know Santa is getting close!
Even if Santa is not in your neighborhood, your kids can follow his progress through Holly Springs each night on the Town’s specially created Santa Tracker. This top-secret technology allows kids in Holly Springs to track the big guy in real time!
