HERE ARE SOME LOCAL SUMMER CAMP PROGRAMS
Daniel Dhers Action Sports Complex, 171 Tradition Trail, ddasc.com — Starting June 13, send your kids to Summer Ramp Camp for $45/day, $500 for four weeks, or something in between. The camp is all about teaching action sports in a safe and fun environment. The idea behind the camp is that it’s better to teach the kids in a controlled environment under the supervision of professionals, than to have them out on the streets and sidewalks trying to learn the skills on their own. The facility for BMX, mountain biking and skateboarding is geared toward all ages and skill levels. Many of the instructors are professional competitors. 9:30am – 4:30pm. Early drop off and pick up available at $5/hr.
Kraft YMCA, 8921 Holly Springs Road, Apex, ymcatriangle.org — Kindercamp is a half-day camp for preschoolers (age 3-rising K) who enjoy swimming, singing, playing, and creating. There are Wacky Wednesdays and family events. Kindercampers earn beads for their hats based on important YMCA character traits. Camp runs from 8:30AM-12:30PM. Cost is $129/week for members ($154/non-members).
Camp Crossroads is a full-day camp (7 am – 6pm) with swimming, creative arts, archery, teambuilding, songs, skits, values times, assemblies and Family Nights. $184/week for members ($222/non-members). Campers will swim on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Camps run from June 13th to Aug 19th. Every week carries a different theme for the camp.
CILT Camp (Campers in Leadership Training) is held for rising 9th and 10th graders and provides character and leadership development for teenagers. Cost for members is $148, non-members $177.
Sonshine Gymnastics, 151 Thomas Mill Road — Fitness-based preschool camp for ages 3-5 or half- and full-day camps (8:45am – noon) for K and above are available at Sonshine Gymnastics. Cost is $28/day or $134/week for half-day options (8:45am – noon), and $40/day or $175/week for full-day camps. (8:45am – 5pm) Runs from June 13th – August 19th.
Camp Agape, 1369 Tyler Dewar Lane, Fuquay-Varina, agapekurebeach.org — This Christian faith-based camp offers an array of programs from day camps to overnight camps. The facility offers comfortable indoor overnight housing and a commercial kitchen. They offer everything from riding horses, to launching rockets, to swimming, boating and much more. Camps run from June12th to Aug 5th. Rates start at $175.
Holly Springs Parks & Recreation, W.E. Hunt Recreation Center, 301 Stinson Avenue, hollyspringsnc.us/214/Parks-Recreation — The Town of Holly Springs offers many summer camp options including traditional, athletic, nature, and teen camps. Availability is limited; it’s smart to inquire before applying. Fees vary but are always affordable. The camps range from “old school” summer camp to work programs. Locations are Bass Lake Park, The Hunt Center, Womble Park and the Holly Springs Cultural Center.
Active Tracks Camp, 116 Quantum Street, activetrackscamp.com — “No Movies. No T.V. No Video Games.” That’s Active Tracks’ motto. Upcoming themed weeks include Fossils, All about Scientists, and Animals/Habitats. Camp weekly rates are $190/first child and $170/additional child. The basis for the camp is to teach the kids how to have fun with crafts, games and outdoor activities. Daily field trips to local parks (weather permitting) and specific field trips scheduled too.
Rockstar Cheer & Dance, 125 Quantum Dr, Holly Springs, rockstartriangle.com/hollysprings — Summer Camp is for ages 5-12. The cheerleading based curricula is designed for all ages and skill levels. They teach how to cheer, jump, stunt, tumble and dance. Price is $150 for non-team members and $125/week for team members. Drop in is $40/day. Multi-week discounts are available. 8am – 5pm. Early drop and late drop available at $5/30min.
The Tumble Gym, 7232 GB Alford Highway, thetumblegym.com/hollysprings.php — $30 gets you a day of fun, complete with games, crafts, obstacle courses, gymnastics, tumbling and parkour from 7:30AM-6:30PM.
Little Dreamers Preschool, 114 Hyannis Drive, littledreamershollysprings.com — Summer camps at Little DreamerAs are super fun, packed with free play, arts and crafts, music and dance, story time, and much more. Times are from 9AM-noon. Cost: $125/week or $30/day. Starts July 11.
