Amidst a global pandemic that has ravaged small businesses throughout the US, there is still hope in Holly Springs. While the pandemic has halted construction in many towns, Holly Springs continues to grow at a brisk pace. New home construction and shopping plazas have been going up left and right since the 90s without any sign of letting up. However, despite all the growth, there has been one thing that has been noticeably missing – a true downtown.
Holly Springs has long envied its neighboring communities for their charming downtowns that have given their town a true identity. For Holly Springs, that is slowly starting to change. A little over a year ago, Town Hall Commons opened a 44,000-square-foot building consisting of several mom-and-pop retail shops and restaurants. Around the same time, Our Moments in Time opened a shop across the street featuring products created by local artists.
Set to open this February, The Block on Main hopes to add to that momentum. The Block is a 54,000-square-foot mixed-use project that hopes to become the heart and soul of Holly Springs. Owners Chris Harol, Jon Harol, Stephen Chan and John Lee, all local Holly Springs residents and business owners, are all passionate about the future of this town. The project was designed with community input in hopes to create the quaint, charming downtown our residents have been looking for.
There will be a 100-seat amphitheater that aims to be the hub of activity for all things Holly Springs. Expect live music and entertainment in the amphitheater on a regular basis.
The Block will also host regular events to support local charities. Events include Block Parties, a Charity Poker Tournament and Family Game Night. Other draws will be Food Truck Fridays and the Children’s Reading Series in the spring and fall. With the safety and well-being of our residents the chief concern, most of these events will be on hiatus until the spread of COVID-19 is under control. However, when that day finally comes when it is safe to gather with family and friends, ditch your mask, put on your party pants and head over to The Block.

The conference room features soaring storefront glass under an iconic angled roof and an open air balcony. Nordic wood accents in the large break room, shared offices, and in the spa-like bathrooms combine the warmth of wood with elegant modern lighting to create a comfortable setting for work and collaboration. The large windows at the perimeter of the high ceilinged open area and offices permit light and views of the growing townscape—the public amphitheater below, nearby restaurants, and shops that are transforming Main Street in Holly Springs into the vibrant destination it has always deserved to be.
