The holiday season is upon us and the Town of Holly Springs is setting out to spread holiday cheer to all who live near! While it is easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of holiday happenings, this time of year is the perfect opportunity to lend a helping hand to those in need. We invite you to partner with us in making a positive, lasting impact in our community. Here are five ways to partner with the Town of Holly Springs in giving back during the holidays:
Holiday Hunger Relief
Help the Holly Springs Police Public Safety Cadets collect food to support local families this Thanksgiving! Drop off donations, such as canned goods, cereal, and baby products, at the Holly Springs Law Enforcement Center, now through Monday, November 14. Items will be donated to the Holly Springs Food Cupboard.
Angel Tree & Holiday Toy Drive
Impact the life of a child in our community and help them experience the joy of opening gifts on Christmas Day. Visit the Holly Springs Law Enforcement Center to pick up an Angel Tag from our tree beginning the week of November 28, following Thanksgiving. Tags will list the child’s age, clothing size and additional wish list items. All gifts must be returned by December 20 in order to be distributed to the families. Gifts can be returned wrapped or unwrapped, but must be clearly labeled with the child’s specific Angel Tree Tag.
Unable to pick up an Angel Tree tag? We are also collecting new, unwrapped toys to benefit the families in need who are part of the Angel Tree program. Items can be dropped off at the Holly Springs Law Enforcement Center from Monday, November 28 through Tuesday, December 20.
Shop with a Cop
Santa has enlisted the Holly Springs Police Department to assist with delivering toys this Christmas! Our School Resource Officers partner with their school counselors to identify and select students in need of some holiday cheer. On Saturday, December 17, pre-selected children in need within our community will be paired with officers from the Holly Springs Police Department to go shopping for holiday presents for themselves and their families. After the shopping haul, officers gather together to wrap the gifts and deliver the presents to each family closer to the holidays. Interested in donating to the cause? Note in the Pocket
We’re partnering with Note in the Pocket, an organization that provides donated clothing to impoverished and homeless children in Wake County. Starting Monday, November 21, the Town Hall lobby will be a drop-off location for new packages of children’s underwear and socks. Items will be accepted through Monday, December 12.
The Christmas Store
Community members are invited to donate unwrapped gifts to be given to The Christmas Store, a local resource for families in need of support in getting holiday gifts for their children. Beginning Monday, November 21, through Monday, December 5, unwrapped toys can be dropped off under the tree in the Town Hall lobby. The toys are then wrapped by volunteers and given to families.
