The Directors of the Youth Lacrosse System, L.L.C. have been developing lacrosse at all age levels for players in and around Wake County since 1998 when it first began. Lacrosse is growing faster than any other organized sport in America , and it is no surprise that the rapidly growing Holly Springs community has also benefited from the fun and excitement of ‘the fastest game on two feet.’
WHY HAS YLS BEEN SUCCESSFUL?
The Youth Lacrosse System, L.L.C. develops leadership skills & character through the fundamentals of lacrosse. We select coaches who are passionate about teaching the fundamentals, know about the history of lacrosse development in NC, believe that students are at the center of the learning process, and hold the people around them to a high standard of professionalism. YLS makes sure that effective and fun YLS camp sessions are followed by YLS league opportunities to apply the information in competitive settings. Revisiting and refining the fundamentals using effective strategies is critical for player development at the next level.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
YLS teaches every level lacrosse player; boys and girls in grades K-8. No experience is required to become involved with YLS. We will meet the needs of all level athletes. We have been actively building elementary, middle, and high school programs in NC for over 10 years and provide a stable support group for each program that is developed.
WHY WILL LACROSSE BE EASIER THAN YOU REALIZE?
With traits of basketball, football, hockey, and soccer blended into one sport, lacrosse—the oldest sport in North America —has found a place in kids’ lives regardless of age, gender, and ability level. Everyone has grown up playing games that resemble the basic features of lacrosse, and it’s no surprise that our YLS participants are quick learners because we remind them of that in how we teach the game.
