We finished the season 22-2-1, losing in the fourth round of the state playoffs. We had a 22-game winning streak, finished undefeated in the conference and had the #1 seed in the playoffs.
We started the season off with a loss and had to score in the last minute against Willow Springs to win that game. I think those two games and the win against then #1 Hoggard are when the team realized who they were and what they could be. After we beat Hoggard, the team knew they had something special. From there we went on to beat eight teams in the top 10 of the high school RPI. We played six undefeated teams in the middle of the season and won one of the hardest conferences in the state. We had a player set the all-time points and goals mark for a season at Holly Springs (Sean O’Laughlin), and another player tie the single season assist record for the school (Jayson Cantor). We had five all-conference players, five all-region players and one all-state player.
