Coach Jason Bochert (named SWAC Coach of the Year for the second year in a row)
After a regular season that saw the Hawks capture XC invitational wins at the Pace Yourself Early Bird Challenge and the Hare and Hounds XC Invitational, our squad pushed into the championship season full of confidence. The Hawks ended up winning the SWAC championships by 24 points over a solid Apex Friendship squad. This was the second year in a row that the Hawks brought home the conference crown. Individually we had four all-conference performers. Brandon Williams was the individual champion with a new school record time of 15:29.59. Cruz Ledford followed that up with a fourth place finish and first team all-conference honors. Rounding out our all-conference runners were Matt Yun (13th) and Nicholas Fours (14th) both receiving second team all-conference finishes. Our Hawks came out on top and bested the 17 team field to win the regional title by 16 points over Riverside High School. This was the first regional title in school history. Leading the way were Brandon Williams (5th) and Cruz Ledford (8th) both earning all-region honors. The Hawks finished fourth in the NCHSAA 4A State Championships! This was only the second time in school history the Hawks reached the state championships (as a team) and it was their highest finish ever. Great season, Hawks!
