Downtown Holly Springs is becoming a destination of choice for residents and visitors alike and now has branding to match its energy. This January, the Town officially unveils a dynamic new downtown brand identity, centered around the tagline, “It’s Happening Here.” The thriving Sip & Stroll social district, diverse array of beloved local restaurants and shops, and full calendar of community events are all part of the allure.
“This isn’t just a new look,” said Cassie Hack, the Town’s Communications and Marketing director. “This is a focused initiative to cement the downtown district as the must-visit heart of the community. The bold new identity not only celebrates the energy that already exists but signals to everyone—residents, visitors, and entrepreneurs—that the momentum is real, the destination is special, and the most exciting chapters for Holly Springs are truly happening here.”
Immediately visible elements of the initiative include twinkling lights installed in the trees lining the sidewalk along Main Street, adding a touch of magic to the pedestrian experience. Off Ballentine Street behind Town Hall, elegant bistro lighting now transforms a brick patio into a cozy gathering space. New downtown banners showcasing the brand also are being installed.
“These improvements are designed not only to beautify the area but to encourage lingering, dining, and connection, making every visit feel like a special occasion,” said Irena Krstanovic, the Town’s Economic Development director.
All of these efforts stem from the Holly Springs Downtown Area Plan, adopted by the Town Council in 2023. Future plans for downtown include transforming a section of Avent Ferry Road into a dedicated festival street that can be closed to vehicles for special events. This adaptable public space will support larger, more immersive celebrations.
“Community engagement was essential to developing the plan for Downtown Holly Springs,” said Chris Hills, Development Services director. “Incorporating the community’s ideas and feedback helped us create a clear roadmap for the future. What residents see today are just the first of many initiatives we are rolling out as part of that community-driven plan.”

As part of the brand launch, the Town will host a special “Uncover the Springs” Scavenger Hunt from February 2 to 14. This free, self-guided activity invites participants of all ages to explore downtown, discover signage featuring clues, and piece together a hidden phrase. The experience concludes at the Holly Springs Cultural Center, where participants can pick up a prize mug branded with the new downtown logo and enjoy a free hot drink to keep warm. “The downtown brand launch is much more than a cosmetic update; it’s a statement about the future of Holly Springs,” Krstanovic said. “Every element reinforces the idea that Downtown Holly Springs is where the best of community life converges. This reinforces efforts to create a welcoming and walkable downtown, driven by memorable experiences and charming public spaces, and we invite everyone to visit to experience for themselves what is happening here.”
